The Herald is a student-ran newspaper that focused on informing and providing news to the community. Within the Herald, I was a multifaceted agent. I am currently a reporter, media correspondent, writer, and editor for all of the official media platforms. As a student reporter for the historically black university, I played a crucial role in capturing the vibrant essence of campus life and communicating it to the broader community. I My responsibilities go beyond merely reporting facts; I am a storyteller, tasked with illuminating the diverse experiences, achievements, and challenges faced by students, faculty, and staff within the HBCU community. I was able to record and photograph several celebrity concerts, homecomings, sports games, and other campus events. Through keen observation and insightful interviews, I provided the opportunity to shed light on the unique cultural, academic, and social aspects that made my HBCU, Texas Southern University, distinct. By doing so, I contribute to fostering a sense of unity and pride among your peers while also serving as a bridge between the campus and the wider world, showcasing the richness and significance of the HBCU experience.
